Train To Win

"No one wins like Manny because no one trains like Manny."

This is what's keeping every participant of the Nike Train to Win challenge very eager to do as much push ups as they can just to beat Manny.

And as in my previous post, Mark also took this challenge.

Here are some snapshots of the videos he uploaded to the Nike Train to Win site. He already has 3 entries and as of 2pm yesterday, he already made 246 push-ups.

He still has 2 more days to beat the top score and I know he can do it. Good luck Mark! Keep pushing! :D

Training Is Everything

I got excited and happy when I was able to catch another Nuffnang advertisement here in my blog--the Nike Training Is Everything ad. The add consists of two parts, Gear Up and Train to Win. The Gear Up portion includes new limited edition Manny Pacquiao Nike apparel. The Train to Win portion is a contest and a challenge to beat Manny at his exercises.

The challenger should send a video of him doing the most number of push-ups in three minutes or less. One entry may be sent daily up to March 31, 2010. For each push-up, a raffle entry is earned. The winner will get a pair of Nike MP Trainer SC 2010 Low. A limited edition Team Pacquiao shirt also awaits the challenger who earns the most raffle entries.

When I first saw this ad, I immediately thought of Mark. And after some convincing, I was able to make him take the challenge haha!

Here are the Day1 and Day2 videos of Mark, training his way to victory! ;p

His entries are a little late since it's just a few days to go before March 31, but we are still hoping that he can make it to the top! Good luck Mark! :D

Congratulations Jaoey!

Last Monday, my mom, dad, and I attended Jaoey's recognition day. Jaoey already had an early blow out last Sunday when we had lunch at Max's. He also got to buy some Pokemon cartridge for his Gameboy Advance as his prize.

View jaoey's recognition

Jaoey was able to finish the school year as number one in their class.

He also ranked 4th in the batch of Grade 1 students.

Congratulations Jaoey!!!
Keep up the good work! Be a good boy always!

Happy 1st!!!

I really love to write! I remember being thrilled every time we are tasked to write compositions for our English class. I was also an editor in our school paper during my high school years and I also got to represent our school in formal theme writing competitions.

I've been wanting to have a blog when I was in college, but I never got to do it because of my busy schedule. It was when I got to work that I was able to finally start to blog. :)

I actually have a blog at my Multiply account, which I started around August 2008, but I never really got to write anything on it except for these 3 posts: Getting married at 31?! NO WAY!!!, annoyingly sweet :p, and Are you going to finish strong?.

I never really got hooked into blogging because I can't seem to find the right things to blog about until Jerellt came into the scene and I got to know of jE's AnAtOmY. :D I enjoy reading her blog a lot especially her posts about her gastronomic adventures, which actually was my inspiration when I posted my very first official blog entry at Sweet Nothings, Botchog Moment with Mark :D. And since then, I have been blogging about life, family, love, adventures, collections, and a lot of sweet nothings about me. :)

And today...

I can't believe that I have been blogging for a year! I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to everyone who had been part of Sweet Nothings:

To my dad, for being my number one reader! Thank you too for all the tasty treats! And to my family, thanks a lot for all the family fun!

To Mark, for all the sweet adventures and sweet notes! Thanks for being one of my sources of happiness. :) Thank you too for being my blog contributor! :)

To Jerellt, for being my inspiration to start this blog. Thanks for being an avid reader! Same goes to Joie and Gener. I hope you all enjoyed reading my posts.

And to everyone who had been dropping by, reading my posts, and giving kind comments, support, and appreciation, thanks a lot for letting me share some sweet nothings with you!

Flowers In Full Bloom

Most girls love flowers..well I do too, but in more than five years that I've been with Mark, I haven't received any flowers from him.  Well it was my fault anyway. :P  Mark was just being obedient when I told him not to give me flowers haha!  Silly me?  I know, right?! But I don't really like receiving flowers.  Well I just don't like the thought of having to walk around, or travel to Antipolo in a public transpo, carrying a bouquet of flowers hahaha!

But I do love flowers, really! I get fascinated whenever I see them. Just like one ordinary afternoon, when I saw my moms flowering plants. I immediately took my camera and captured these lovely flowers in full bloom. I also included here some of my favorite quotes about flowers. ^_^

It's just so amazing how beautiful God's creations are! :)

Be like the flower, turn your faces to the sun. ~ Kahlil Gibran

When words escape, flowers speak. ~ Bruce W. Currie

Flowers are love's truest language. ~ Park Benjamin

Bread feeds the body, indeed, but flowers also feed the soul. ~ The Koran

Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into. ~ Henry Beecher

Where flowers bloom so does hope. - Lady Bird Johnson

Flowers are our greatest silent friends. ~ Jim Brown

Thanks Bo!

I've been a fan of Bo Sanchez' blog for almost a year now, special thanks to Jerellt!

Reading Bo's blog has been part of my daily routines. I love reading his posts because the entries are very touching and are nourishing to the soul.

I love a lot of his entries but there is one that I love the most, maybe because I can relate to it a lot. It's about healing emotional wounds through forgiveness. He emphasized on the two stages of forgiveness: Stage One - Get Angry and Stage Two - Release Anger.

Well fine, so much about the teaser. :P Just read the full post HERE. Hope it touches and nourishes your souls the way it touched and nourished mine. :D

My Little Christmas Tree

My mom already started putting up Christmas decors in our home in as early as September. And being the thoughtful mom that she is, she would always buy extra decors for my office desk.

Every morning before I go to work, she would always remind me of bringing the decors but because I'm always in a hurry, I would always forget about it. Until finally I was able to bring them this morning, good thing my mom placed it in my bag. :)

She bought a mini Christmas tree and Santa Clause candles/figurines. (Sorry for the poor pic quality, I just used the cam of my P900 phone. ;p)

I also have a snowman candle/figurine, which unfortunately I wasn't able to take a picture of, because my phone went off. I forgot to bring my charger! (Oh forgetful me! haha!)

When Boredom Strikes...

It was a very rainy Saturday afternoon and I have no choice but to stay at home. I wanted to sleep but I just can't. I've got nothing to do so I just decided to draw. :)

I was thinking of what to draw when I saw my baby brother's Ice Age 3 stuffs and before I knew it, I was able to draw these:

Ice Age 3 - Sid

Ice Age 3 - Momma

Ice Age 3 - Diego

These are just a few of the things that I end up doing when boredom strikes.. :)

Not So Lucky Day

It was a very bad day for me. A lot of misfortunes happened to me today. It started out this morning when I wasn't able to hear the alarm of my clock and so I got to wake up 15 minutes late.

On our way to the office, I usually drive for my dad to Makati on Wednesdays, we got stuck in traffic at C5 and it's already 6:30 am. Not so bad right? Yeah sure! But not for someone whose car's plate number ends in 6! Good thing I've got good driving skills and I managed to get back to Taguig from Makati before the number coding period starts.

I usually arrive the first in our office and so I started to prepare for breakfast. I was filling my noodles with hot water when the cup slipped from my hand and the water started to drip on my fingers! Ouch! My right pointer finger got burnt so badly that I can hardly type this post right now..

In the afternoon, I got a text message from my sister and a call from my mom that my grandfather passed away today at 4pm. Blood started to rush up to my face, tears started to fall, my hands started to tremble, and I started to feel so weak. I'm not really that close to my grandfather but I felt so sad when I heard the news. Let us all pray for my grandfather. May his soul rest in peace..

Just when I thought that I've had enough bad luck, on our way home, I got into an argument with Mark. An argument which turned turned into a huge fight..on this very day before our 5th anniversary! Talk about being unlucky! *sigh*

The Top Spot!

I'm not really into listening to radio shows but I must admit that there's one show that I really got addicted to. It's Monster Radio RX93.1's The Morning Rush show.

I've been listening to their show since I started working and it has been part of my daily morning routines (especially when I'm not busy at work *wink*). I have been enjoying listening to their top 10, especially when the entries come from my friends, Jerellt and Joie. I got inspired and thought of joining the show too, and just last December, I became an active rusher. :)

I join their top 10 every once in a while and my entry would usually land on the 3rd-8th spot. But yesterday, I made it to the top spot! Woohoooo! :D Thanks to Ramon Tulfo! Hahaha! And to Je for sharing the link of Tulfo's column. :)

Their topic was about the Things to say after watching someone's sex scandal video. Below is my exact entry, which Chico tweaked a little bit..hehe..

This was part of what Ramon Tulfo wrote in one of his columns in Inquirer.net: "I am filing a criminal complaint against Hayden Kho. I will charge him in court with illegal possession of a not-so-deadly weapon".

You may download and listen to the Morning Rush Top 10 HERE.

Crazy Quizzes ^_^

Part of my nightly routine is logging into my Facebook account. I would just usually drop by to check on some stuffs like my pet Kitty in Pet Society and to check on some updates from friends.

But this night, I tried taking some FB quizzes, and guess what, I really enjoyed it haha! Another stressbuster! :-P

I really had fun trying out FB's quizzes especially when I get the not-so-true and funny results! :-P Here are some of the quizzes that I've tried. :)

♥ Kriska just took the "GAANO KA KATAPANG???" quiz and the result is ALESSANDRA DE ROSSI.
----PILYA AT MALDITA KA lang talaga! marami rin naman naaaliw sau, pag nababatrip ka.

♥ Kriska took the Are you jealous?? quiz and the result is In between.
----You aren't the happiest person when you see your better half talking or flirting with another person, but want them to have fun. But keeps an eye out.

♥ Kriska just took the "What Mean Girl Are You?" quiz and the result is Regina George.
----You are the Pretty,Popular,Mean one who boys adore and you get EVERYTHING you want.

♥ Kriska just took the "Do you attract Good Guys or Bad Boys?" quiz and the result is A Good Guy Magnet.
----Mother-approved, stably employed, gentlemen seem to flock to you. These 'keepers' would never overstep their bounds and only think of your best interests.

♥ Kriska just took the "GAANO KA KAARTE?" quiz and the result is RUFFA GUTIERREZ.
----isa kang SOSYALERANG MAARTE. Kahit marte ka maraming natutuwa sa pagiging maarte mo.

♥ Kriska completed the quiz "Sinong dapat ka-love team mo?" with the result Piolo Pascual.
----Many will be screaming for your name and many will be watching you! Of course it's Piolo, need one to say more? Very sweet, handsome and knows how to work out your love team. Be ready to be melting into his lovable eyes. A well known actor and has his own "name" already in the industry is just what exactly you are searching for. The Pinoy looking guy is good for you. Being his partner takes a lot of courage, skill and LOOKS.

♥ Kriska just took the quiz What kind of pretty are you? with the result Wild Child.
----No niche could contain your sense of style. Anything goes as long as it makes you feel like a star. You're the one who creates fashion rather than follow it, because you define originality. You definitely make your mark. Everyone would love to have a tenth of the courage you have to pull off the fashion risks you do. But there's only one you, and individuality is very pretty indeed.

♥ Kriska completed the quiz "Which is your SEXIEST feature?" with the result Eyes.
----Your eyes give off natural sparkle which captures people's attention. Use this to create sparks with the opposite sex. You're a cutie!

The Real Me ^_^

As I was browsing through some posts in Multiply, I saw a post from one of my cousins. It was a result of a personality test which she took and which she claimed to be so true..so I thought I'd give it a try..hehe.. :)

Sit back and relax as you read on and get to know the real me. :-P

Get to know yourself better
http://www.quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx

Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties. -ehem ehem! ;-P

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true. -waaah! this is so true!

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you meet that person. -I already met him! or so I think! hahaha!

The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with? -not very me..I'm actually the opposite I swear! :)

Your views on education:
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can. -yup yup!

The right job for you:
You have many goals and want to achieve as much as you can. The jobs you enjoy are those that let you burn off your considerable excess energy. -haha! I really need to lose some inches! summer na! haha!

How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying. -go go go!

What are you most afraid of:
You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear. -another so true! haha!

Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve. -yup and this is the real me!

Journey @ 30

***Warning: This is a super late post! haha! It was just now that I was able to transfer the photos from my phone to the pc because my dad would always forget to bring home the bluetooth..hehe..***

Last February 21, 2009, I and Mark, together with my baby brother Jaoey, accompanied our mom to their batch reunion, at the event center of a mall, which had the theme "Journey @ 30".

It was quite different from usual get togethers and reunions mainly because it has a different purpose. It was a concert-for-a-cause, with their batchmate's computer institute for the blind as the beneficiary.

The concert lasted for almost 2 and a half hours. It was quite boring though, maybe because of the songs which were not really appealing to young people. :-P After the concert, we were able to have our pictures taken with the guest performers. :-)

So True!

Just as when I was doing my morning routine of checking some mails, I found one note telling me to find out what my horoscope is for today. I usually just ignore these kinds of mails and delete them from my inbox just because I'm not really into horoscopes.

But well, I really don't know what got into my mind. It's like there was some sort of an urge telling me to take a peek at what's in store for me today..haha! And to my surprise, I found myself reading my horoscope, and guess what?! My horoscope for today was so true!

I wanted to make sure that it was just some sort of a coinsidence, so I checked on his horoscope too. :-P And well yes, it was also true!

I wonder what my horoscope for tomorrow will be! Hahahaha! :-P

First Day Blues

I am finally free!!! Free from all sorts of stress and pressure that I experienced in the past 2 years! And I'm really happy to have escaped that nightmare! :p

It was my first day at work and I was very much excited of the new experiences and new adventures that are waiting for me. But what I hate the most is the struggle that I have to overcome on first days like:
- having to deal with new sets of people with different personalities
- being along during breaks
- trying to cope with every new task
- and all other struggles that you can imagine :p

Read on as I share with you my First Day Blues :D

4:00 am
I woke up and started to get myself ready for work..excited!! hahaha!

5:25 am
Me and my dad went off to work. We usually leave the house this early to avoid all the traffice and the morning rush..

6:30 am
We were already at my office. I knew that I'm way too early so I decided to have breakfast first.

7:00 am
I finished eating breakfast at a nearby fastfood chain.

7:15 am
I got back at the office, signed in the receptionist's log book, and waited at the reception area.

8:30 am
The receptionist, finally realizing how long i'd been sitting there, guided me to the meeting room.

8:45 am
I felt so bored that I started drafting out a post for my blog. Haha!

10:00 am
The HR personnel as well as 4 of the other new hires arrived. The HR rep had us sign and accomplish a lot of forms!

12:00 noon
Lunch time - what I hate the most on first days! I didn't eat lunch (coz I don't really want eating alone) and just stayed at the building lobby and let the time pass by listening to some mp3s.

1:00 pm
We had a tour at the office.

1:25 pm
We were introduced to te IT personnel who gave us our laptops.

1:31 pm
I was introduced to my manager who accompanied me to my work station. And I really didn't like what I saw! Arrgh!

On top of the table was a lot of unorganized old documents, a brown envelope, a pair of scissors, a used marker, 2 used pencils, an empty bottle of VS Sensual Sunset Body Lotion, and a 'Desidereta' note. In the pedestal, I saw these: pink Christmas ball, colorful masquerade mask with green feather accents, used steno notebook, plastic with spoon, fork, and tissue, folders and used papers, a colorful starbucks tumbler, a can of Planter's Cheese Curls, a rainbow-colored headband/belt, and a bunch of folders and old documents!

I really didn't know if my manager accompanied me to the right desk, but well yes, he confirmed that that was the one he designated for me, and just promised to have it cleaned by the personnel.

It was not a big deal for me though, I just got a little frustrated as to how they plan things. I thought they should have had it cleaned and cleared first before letting someone occupy it. :p

1:47 pm
I still don't know what my tasks are, plus, I can't get my laptop working! I really hate working on hardware and configuring things! :p Also, I don't know where my buddy was! He was supposed to be the one helping me out on this..hmp!

2:08 pm
I thought of doing something productive and so I started reading the documents that the HR rep gave. :)

2:32 pm
I finished reading the first doc and started to read the second one.

3:01 pm
My buddy still hasn't arrived..which made me think..Has he really went to work? :p I also started to feel sleepy! zzzZzZZ!

3:45 pm
I just finished reading the second document..and my buddy wasn't on his desk yet..

4:00 pm
One hour to go and I'm off for home! Yipee! :D

4:13 pm
Finally I saw my buddy on his desk. I heard he just got back from a training. *sigh*
And well since the day is close to it's end, I guess he'll just help me setup everything tomorrow. :p

4:40 pm
I started fixing my things and was already prepared to go home.

4:50 pm
I tried my luck and I was able to make my laptop work! Haha! But well it's too late..

5:00 pm
I was off for home! At last! Wooohooo! :D

Finally, my first day was over. It was kinda boring but I think I can stand doing these things more than doing things in hell! If you're one of my true friends, you know what I meant of HELL! Haha!

Well it never really happened and ended the way I thought it would but at least it ended..hehe..I wonder what tomorrow will be like! :)
