Mongkok

Went to The Medical City at Sta. Lucia East Grandmall with my mom, dad, and Jaoey for another check-up with my Gastroenterologist and OB-Gyne last Saturday. We strolled around and shopped and then had lunch at Mongkok.

Jaoey wanted fried chicken, as always, so we got Mongkok's Fried Soy Chicken. The chicken was cooked just right, it was crispy and juicy. Tasted like Max's. :)

Daddy wanted some soup so we got the Seafood Noodle Soup. There was a generous amount of shrimps and cream dory fillets in the soup. The noodles were also good, even Jaoey liked it. :)

Mommy and I then took charge of the dimsum. :) She chose chicken feet, while I got Siomai and Hakao. :p

The Chicken Feet was ok. The chicken was tender, it also had a distinctn taste which I believe came from the bell pepper.

Siomai will always be in our order whenever we dine at Mongkok, or at any Chinese restos. Perfect as appetizer, it also goes well with the Yang Chow Fried Rice.

The Hakao is another hit for us. I love the crunchiness and sweetness of the shrimps. This too is one of my favorites! :D

And of course, the meal will not be complete without the Yang Chow Fried Rice. It had a generous amount of shrimps, eggs, and ham I think. :p It's not the best yang chow ever, but our family simply loves it. :)

Mongkok is one of the restaurants that we frequent. This actually is one of my daddy's favorite restaurants. And as always, we again got out of Mongkok happy and satisfied. :)

Sunday Dessert at Bake and Churn

Sunday is Family Day for us. Every Sunday, we would either feast over my daddy's specialties or go to malls to stroll and shop around. Just like last Sunday, after hearing mass, we went to a nearby mall, had lunch and did some early Christmas shopping.

After hours of shopping around, my mom decided to treat us for dessert. :) If there are two desserts that my family love eating the most, that would be ice creams and cakes. And it would be such a treat when we can have both at the same time. Thank goodness there's Bake and Churn ice cream cakes! :D

We each had their Black Forest Bar. It's an ice cream cake in a bar. :) The chocolate coated chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake and cherries was truly a delectable treat for all of us!

It was just amazing how the ice cream cake bar maintained its consistency unlike other ice cream bars which tend to melt easily. Even Jaoey was able to eat it without a single drip! And the chocolate coating, oh it was so yummy! Hmmmmm...and now I'm craving for it haha! :)

Another tasty treat from Bake and Churn is their Chilly Cup. It's like a mini version of their whole ice cream cakes. It was already late in the afternoon when we got there so there were only 2 flavors left for us, Coffee Toffee and Ube Classic.

If you're a coffee lover you'll definitely enjoy the Coffee Toffee Chilly Cup. But what I loved the most were the chocolate chips and toffee sprinkles. Yummy!

The Ube Classic Chilly Cup was equally delectable! The moist ube cake blended perfectly well with the vanilla-ube ice cream. I'm not really into Ube cakes or ice creams, but I must admit that I enjoyed eating the Ube Classic Chilly Cup. :)

If you want delectable yet very affordable ice cream cakes, try Bake and Churn's. It's one sweet way to spend some quality time with the family! We'll definitely come back for more!

My family, chillin' at Bake and Churn ♥♥♥

Lunch at Shakey's

After hearing mass, we headed to the Sta. Lucia East mall.

We had my dad's and my brother's eyeglasses checked and made about a week ago and we were scheduled to claim it today.

I also got to buy an early birthday gift for Jaoey since he will be turning 8 a few weeks from now.

We were done with claiming the glasses and buying the birthday gift just in time for lunch. After a few minutes of contemplating on where to have lunch, we all agreed to have it at Shakey's.

Shakey's has been one of our family's favorite restaurants. I can still vividly recall how excited I and my siblings get every time my dad is on his 2pm-10pm shift. After his work, he would always bring us to Shakey's, which was just half a minute drive from our house, to have our late night snack.

Here are a few photos of us while waiting for our orders. I only had my camera phone at hand so just bear with me for the not-so-good photos.. ;)

Since we all wanted to get a taste of our all-time favorites at Shakey's, we decided to have one order each of the Shakey's Super Platter. :)

Each platter consists of 2 slices of Hawaiian Pizza, Caesar Salad, Spaghetti, Chick 'n Chips, a slice of Raisin Oatmeal brownie..

and a choice of Chicken and Corn Soup..

or Creamy Mushroom Soup.

And just like the old times, Shakey's still has never failed to satisfy our palates. :)
