Estrellas Rooftop Lounge, The Canvas Hotel



Dubai has a thriving night life. There are a lot of pubs and lounges here, most of which are in New Dubai. There are also some in Old Dubai (Bur Dubai) but only quite a few can boast about being classy. Estrellas is one of them. Mark and I have opposing opinions, but I totally loved the look and feel of Estrellas!

It was a Saturday and Mark and I just lazed around the whole day, so we found ourselves again walking into New Sarhad Darbar for our Saturday dinner habit. I was craving some Mutton Korma and Roti, which unfortunately were not available that time and I wasn't up for having their other dishes, so we decided to dine elsewhere.

I must admit that it took me a while before I finally grasped how Friday brunches are just a usual thing in Dubai. But although Friday brunches are mainstream, each restaurant still has its own way of making their brunch standout.


Another member of Dubai's brunch scene is the newly launched Tapas Fridays at The Huddle Sports Bar and Grill in Citymax Hotels in Bur Dubai. Conveniently located in Al Mankhool, Bur Dubai, just a few blocks away from our place, Mark and I sampled a Spanish-style Friday brunch.

Friday brunches are a common thing here in Dubai for families, both locals and expats alike. I've been in Dubai for a little over year, and I have already observed how they take Friday (or weekend) brunches so passionately. And while almost all hotels here offer brunches, each still has their own way of making their brunch stand out.
