Boracay's Simple Pleasures

I really enjoyed my stay in Boracay..too bad it had to end. :P But I guess it's good too, well good for all of you, because you'll get to read new posts (at last!) aside from my Boracay adventures hahahaha!

I had a very fun-filled vacation! It was also very memorable because first, I got to spend it with Mark and my friends--whom I haven't seen for quite some time, second, I got carry out my surprise for Mark's birthday which he loved so much (thanks to all my friends for helping me out! my love goes out to all of you!), and the most important one, it was all of us' first time in Boracay (except for Chrissi and Emman)! Hahaha!

Miggy's Place

After days of fun and adventure in Boracay, we finally bid the island goodbye. Here's our last photo at the Hannah Hotel.

We got into the Kalibo airport at around 11am. While waiting for our boarding time, Mark and I decided to have lunch first at Miggy's Place which is just a few steps away from the airport.

Miggy's Place is known for their special gourmet sandwiches. There were a lot delicious sounding sandwiches from the menu, but since we ate so much during our stay in Boracay, we decided to go healthy this time. :P

Most of the sandwiches in the menu come with 'special chips'. Mark and I both got curious and kept on thinking what made Miggy's 'special chips' special. :P

I ordered the Tuna Melt while Mark ordered the Tuna Clubhouse which both are in wheat bread and come with the 'special chips'.

We immediately got a bite of the chips when our orders arrived. There was a generous serving of not potato but cassava chips. It was very thin and crispy plus it was well seasoned with some of kind of barbecue flavor. Special enough I agree!

Just as how special the chips were, so were the sandwiches. I love the taste of their tuna filling which goes well with the creamy melted cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, and lettuce.

Mark's order was just like mine, except that it was a bigger serving and it didn't have cheese.

We both had Raspberry Iced Tea Shake for our drinks.

Aside from the delectable gourmet sandwiches at Miggy's Place, they also take pride on their antique-filled home-style ambiance.

And so after we finished our food, we still stayed at Miggy's and took some photos while waiting for our flight. :)

Steakhouse Boracay

We went back to the station 1 after riding the Zorb. We plunged into the waters for a while. The rest went back to the hotel while Mark and I stayed on the beach. We were full of activities since day 1 so it was just on the 4th day that Mark and I had the chance to have our henna tattoos done. I had a floral ankle tattoo while Mark had a tribal tattoo.

Our tattoos were done just in time for lunch. Mark and I were both hungry so we headed straight to Steakhouse Boracay.

While waiting for our friends, we ordered some drinks. I had mango shake and Mark had calamansi juice.

Some photos while waiting for our friends...

We were both getting hungry and our friends still haven't arrived, so we decided to place our orders.

Mark had the Rouladen (I forgot the exact name of the dish haha!). It's made from thinly sliced round steak filled with a mixture of bacon, onions, and pickles. The dish consists of two rolls and a generous serving of mashed potato and steamed vegetables. I just love how tender the beef was. I also loved how the bacon goes perfectly well with the onions and pickles, which was made more delectable by the meaty sauce.

I had stir-fried vegetables, which I must say was very tasty.  I love how crisp the veggies were.

I also had their cheeseburger. The quarter pound pure beef patty was very juicy and was cooked just right. It also came with lots of veggies and cheese. :D

Mark and I were already eating when my friends arrived. We all loved the food at Steakhouse, we just didn't like how slow the service was. Good thing Emman and Chrissi were still able to finish their food in time for their flight to Manila.

We had a few more shots before we headed back to the hotel.

Ride the Zorb!

Even if we stayed up late the night before and didn't have much rest, we were up early the next day and all ready for another adventure! We tried the Zorb on our 4th day in Boracay.

After breakfast, we were off to ride the Zorb! Just like when we rode the flying fish, Cathlyne chose to just stay at the hotel and have some sleep.

We were enjoying the place and the view while the staff were preparing the zorb.

There are different ways to enjoy the ride. You may either ride it with or without water inside and be tossed into a track of grass, or you may opt to be harnessed inside the ball and be tossed into a rough track. The zorb can also accommodate a maximum weight of 300lbs (3 persons max). If you're not riding the zorb, you may also lay down the track and have the zorb roll over you.

Since there were just 6 of us, we chose to ride in pairs and opted for the ride with water inside the ball. We also did the 'maiba una' hand game to know who will ride the zorb first. :P

And well I guess I wasn't lucky enough haha! Here's a picture of Mark and I before the ride.

A pail of water was poured inside the zorb, Mark and I then got in, the locks were secured, and then we're off!

Here are Chrissi and Emman, down the track, waiting for us to stumble over them!

Mark and I were screaming non-stop as we rolled down.

I was nervous at first thinking that Mark and I might bump against each other.

Good thing we chose the zorb with water. We were just sliding inside as we rolled down to the end of the track.

It was a very exciting ride! Kinda bitin but so much fun!

Chrissi and Emman rode next, and then last were Jonathan and Arriane.

We all had a great time riding the zorb! We'll definitely do this again when we get back to Boracay! :D

Aria

After a whole day of fun and adventure, a luscious dinner would be just the perfect treat!

We had our dinner at Aria on our 3rd night at Boracay. This is just one of the restaurants in Boracay that serve authentic Italian dishes.

After some quality time and walk along D'mall, Mark and I came to the restaurant first.

We were already getting hungry while going through the menu, but since the rest haven't arrived yet, we decided to get some thirst quenchers first. I got Aria's Fruit Shake while Mark opted for the Papaya Shake.

The rest of the group came a few minutes after our drinks were served.

Since we already read through the menu while waiting for the others, Mark and I were the first ones to order.

First on our list was the Boscaiola. It's a generous serving of fetuccine with a creamy sauce of mushroom, ham, and parmesan cheese. The dish tasted good, though the sauce seemed not enough because it became a little dry as I dug through the dish.

Next was the Involtini di Manzo, 4 big chunks of thinly sliced beef rolled with mozzarella cheese and farmers ham. I'm not a fan of medium rare beef but Aria's involtini is an exception. :P Though a reddish color was still obvious, the taste was just right as it was overpowered by the mozzarella and ham. Involtini di Manzo, mmmmm, a must-try at Aria!

The dish also came with oven-baked potato wedges.

Aside from the ones that we had, Aria also offers a variety of pastas, salads, and pizzas. If you’re the type who love Italian dishes, and you happen to be in Boracay, you definitely have to try Aria. :)

We then headed to Guilly's after dinner for some all out partying 'til dawn! :D
