With only a couple of weeks left before Ramadan, aside from our Muslim brothers getting ready for this holy month, restaurants and hotels alike are also gearing up for their Iftar and Suhoor offerings—ranging from traditional feasts to lavish and extravagant ones.
Tonnee and I had a traditional Ramadan experience during the Iftar preview last week at Kris with a View in Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel.
We got to sample what they have to offer this coming Ramadan, which includes:
A comfortable dining area with dining tables accentuated with Iftar staples like dates, nuts, and dried fruits; buffet sections and dining tables lined with with Arabic cloths and lanterns;
Traditionally, dates, nuts, or dried fruits are eaten together with a glass of water to break the fast. |
A section dedicated to Arabian, Indian, and Asian dishes;
Arabian and international desserts, Arabian coffee and tea, and Ramadan drinks;
Live cooking stations featuring beef short ribs, shawarma, and the star of every Iftar, the Lamb Ouzi!
There's also a professional henna tattoo artist available, and an Arabic oud music runs on the background all throughout the Iftar.
I guess what sets it apart from other Iftars is the unobstructed view of Old and New Dubai including the iconic Dubai Frame and Burj Khalifa.
