A couple of weekends back, I got an invitation from Splash Tours UAE for a tour around Dubai's coast and its coastal landmarks on board a speed boat.
I've been in Dubai for 4 years now, and we've already experienced a tour around Dubai's coast earlier this year, but I'm still always left in awe every time I see its iconic landmarks. And the fact that I'll get to see experience it again just makes me more than excited. I don't know but there's just something in Dubai's landmarks that never gets old.
After our Saturday lunch, we headed straight to Dubai Marina in time for our speed boat tour which is at 2:30PM. After a few briefing and safety precautions, we boarded a 10-seater speed boat and set sail for an exciting 90-minute tour.
Our tour started smoothly from Dubai Marina into the open sea where we had a good glimpse of Ain Dubai. The thrill started as we cruised around Jumeirah Beach Residence and The Palm Jumeirah.
We had a short stop in front of the Atlantis, The Palm, where we had a nice photo opportunity. We then went off to Burj Al Arab and took some more photos (and of course, we weren't spared with Mark's half-naked poses. See photos at the end of this post. :p) and then we headed back to Dubai Marina passing by the magnificent royal palaces.
I was meaning to take videos of our whole tour, but the ride was so bumpy I just couldn't let go of the hand rails! Yes, just when I thought that it would be a boring and an all smooth sailing ride, it turned out to be a fun and thrilling one.
If you've rode a roller coaster before, it's almost the same kind of experience, but it's more exciting here since you're riding against the waves! I didn't know how many times I screamed as our boat "jumped" through the waves or whenever the captain makes a sharp turn and maneuvers the boat in circles. Ah it was so fun!

A bit of a stretch in the budget compared to other boat tours, but this one is fun and exciting, perfect for thrill seekers, and shouldn't be missed when you're in Dubai. Here are a few more photos of our tour:
