We ended our August with a much needed staycation (uh huh, this is post is long overdue, sorry!). We intentionally didn't plan for an Eid holiday and postponed it a week later, just in time for our anniversary.
We want a place that's serene, somewhere we can relax and forget about the hustle and bustle of Dubai even for a bit, but also somewhere that's not too far; so Ajman got into the picture.
We were already bracing ourselves with splurging an extra Dirham or two since we didn't book early, until I stumbled upon an offer at Cobone while searching for hotels. Originally valued at 1,130 AED for an overnight stay in a superior room, with buffet breakfast and a choice of buffet lunch or dinner for two, it was on offer at only 679 AED! Such a steal, right?
We arrived at the hotel after around a 45-minute Careem ride from our house (which costed us roughly 250 AED for a two-way trip). An elegant and grandiose vibe welcomed us when we entered the hotel. The Arabian concept is evident in the hotel's interiors—complete with a fountain, golden pillars, huge golden chandeliers, and palm trees.
Check in is at 2pm, but we were already there at 12 noon and were allowed for an early check in. Check in process was a breeze. After the legalities, we were provided with cold towels and refreshing drinks while waiting for our room to be all prepped up. We also took the time to get an initial glimpse of the beach. After around 15 minutes, we received a call that our room is ready.
Superior Room
The Superior Room is a 36-sqm room located at the hotel’s main building. Our is on the first floor giving us a good view of the pool from our private terrace. Other Superior Rooms (I guess at the higher floors) offer a view of the lush greens and a partial view of the Arabian Gulf. The design of our room is modern and flawless, with colors that are bright and inviting. It has all the essentials for a relaxing and fuss free stay—cable TV, work station, coffee and tea making facility, cabinet and safety vault, mini ref, bed side drawers, coffee table and couches, and of course, the king sized bed with super comfy duvet and pillows. A mini bar is not available but they have in-room service for it instead.
Also part of the room is the clean and spacious bathroom with toilet and bath tub, basic toiletries, towels, bath robes, and hair dryer. The bathroom was nice and sleek, we can't help but take selfies! :p
I must admit that I wasn't expecting much from our room since we paid a discounted rate. It turns out, only the price was discounted; everything else we got to enjoy to its full extent!
Dining
Our stay included a buffet breakfast for two. We were also provided with two vouchers worth 100 AED each which we can use for either lunch or dinner in any of the hotel's restaurants. We went straight for lunch after we unpacked our things in our room.It was a Friday and we were in time for the Garden Friday Brunch at Cafe Naseem. We used our vouchers for the food and had to pay separately for our drinks. The brunch was a nice jumpstart to our staycation. The live BBQ station with seafood and meats were what Mark and I enjoyed the most. I'll be doing a separate post for the brunch so stay tuned. ;)
We were still full from brunch so we decided to just have a light dinner come night time. We had burger and chicken skewers at the Cosmic Bowling Cafe and then went on for some bowling, karaoke, and some drinks to cap the night off. More of these on a separate post. ;)
We had our breakfast at Sabella's the following day. Breakfast is served buffet style with breakfast choices from Continental, American, and Arabic cuisines.

There's also a 24-hour in-room dining service with various food and beverage offerings from international cuisine. Apart from that, they also have an in-room service for the mini bar which you can have delivered to your room.
Recreation
Mark knows how I love beaches and it goes without saying that for a staycation, a hotel with beach resort is a must! Ajman Hotel boasts of its private white sand beach as one of the most beautiful private beaches in the UAE, and I couldn't agree more!We went straight to the beach right after our brunch and basked under the sun till sunset. We also woke up early the following day and continued to enjoy the pristine beach after breakfast. Ajman Hotel's private beach captivated my heart, it deserves a separate blog post. Watch out for that. ;)
The beach closes after sunset but don't fret, you can still get to enjoy the waters through the temperature-controlled pool which is open till late. There's a pool for adults with a pool bar, and a kiddie pool adjacent to it. If you don't fancy dipping into the pool, you can enjoy a drink or two from the pool bar while sun bathing in the sun loungers and comfy couches spread around the pool area.
They also have a tennis court, spa, and fitness gym with classes which you can avail for an additional charge. There's also a library and a couple of cafes for some quiet time, coffee, and shisha; and a couple of sports bars with bowling, billiards, karaoke, and drinks that's perfect for the night owls.

Service
I'm sure I'll get a lot of nodding heads when I say that a staycation won't be as good without a good customer service. And that is what we already experienced even before the start of our stay at Ajman Hotel. I had issues with my IDs during booking, and Ms. Anica, the Front Office Manager, was more than accommodating. Our checkin went smoothly, as I mentioned earlier, thanks to the front office staff who attended to us and the staff who took care of our luggages when we were waiting for our room to be prepped.
It's always the little things and gestures that matter the most to me, and this little surprise from Ajman Hotel was just one of them. Saw this in the coffee table in our room when we got back from dinner. :D
Service is also consistent in the restaurants that we tried throughout our stay, and that's a brownie point for the hotel!
Ajman is the smallest of the seven Emirates and it's becoming one of the popular destinations for a good relaxation in the UAE. Glad we were able to discover one of its gems—Ajman Hotel!
The past months had been so exhausting for both Mark and I—I had been mentally, emotionally, and a bit physically drained because some unfortunate work-related events, which in turn made Mark go double-time (as if he wasn't already doing this before), most days even triple-time, with his work—so we thought we both deserved a good R&R.
So happy that we chose Ajman Hotel, we got our much needed staycation and to top it all off, we experienced the leisure and luxury of a 5-star hotel at an affordable rate. Yay! Can't wait to be back!
