Play House Brunch at Liwan Restaurant in Swissotel Al Ghurair

While there are a lot of brunch choices here in Dubai, only a few caters to the whole family, especially the kids. Some have dedicated kids' play area, yes, but nothing like the one that the Play House Brunch offers.

Swissotel Al Ghurair launched the Play House Brunch at Liwan restaurant last Friday, and my friend and I had the pleasure of trying it out. The brunch is party-themed and focuses on food, activities, games and entertainment for the kids.

There's a huge play area with an inflatable castle, swing and slide, and tables for painting activities. There's also face painting, video games, balloon twisting, and live cooking classes for the kids to enjoy.

There's an entire buffet dedicated to the kids, from classic kids' favorites like pizza and burgers, to healthy kid's dishes like vegetables, chicken, fruits, and yogurt; complete with cotton candy and popcorn machines, and a chocolate fountain.

 

 

The kids' area is equipped with cameras linked to TV screens situated across the dining area, so moms and dads can monitor their kids while relaxing with friends or indulging in the extensive buffet.

Speaking of extensive buffet, adults are spoilt for choice with different live stations—Vietnamese Spring Rolls counter where fine rolls are assembled, Thai Curry Station where you can create your own curry soup or noodle dish, Mexican Station with customizable taco bowls, Stir-fry and Noodle Soup Station for some Asian food fix, and the Mongolian Barbecue counter with choice cuts of meats and seafood with some sauces, which you can have grilled (this I'm sure is where Mark will go back to over and over).

 

The buffet also includes from various cuisines—Middle Eastern, Indian, and Asian—plus some antipasti, sushi, salads, cheese, and breads.

 

 

Also not to be missed is the desserts station with ice creams and pastries, Middle Eastern desserts, fresh fruits, and an entire spread showcasing Swiss chocolates confections and sculptures!

 

 

Just by looking at the spread already made me full. I helped myself with a couple of mocktails, some maki, roast beef, pizza. Also had butter chicken and dal with some roti; yum!

 

With all that's in store for kids and adults alike, a AED 160 per person rate for adults and AED 80 for kids between ages 6-12, is absolutely a great value for money. Kids between ages 0-5 can also dine for free. Such a steal!
