I'd been to the Medley Restaurant before for Iftar, and just a couple of weeks ago, Mark and I were back at Medley to experience their Indian themed night. Dubbed as the "Art of Spice", the theme night offers a buffet spread of authentic Indian dishes with ingredients and flavors inspired by the North Indian region, all curated by the award winning chef Sweety Singh.
We were ushered to our seats and served with Mango Lassi as our welcome drink. It tasted fresh and delicious I couldn't help but have a second serving. They also serve wines and fresh juices.

We were then made familiar with the offerings in the buffet, with each section beautifully adorned with metallic pots, pans, and claypot-shaped bronze chafing dishes plus some cloths embellished with intricate designs (similar to traditional Indian clothes). Each table is also lined with a golden embroidered cloth to complete the Indian vibe.
We skipped the Salad Station (which had a selection of both the essential Indian salads along with some international ones) and went for some soup instead. Mark had the Chicken Soup which was a good jumpstart to our Indian feast.
My favorite part of the Indian buffet is the Chaat Station, where different kinds of chaats were made fresh by the chef. I always see Sev Puri, Dahi Puri, and Pani Puri in Indian menus, but I'm still not familiar with the difference of each, so we just had the chef make us something with all of the ingredients, that's not too spicy.
I think the chef made us some Pani Puri. I've tried Pani Puri before and I loved it since, same goes with what we had at Medley. Mark on the other hand is not as fond of it as I am, so I was surprised when he liked what the chef made for him that night. He liked it so much he had to go for a second round!
For the main course, there was a wide range of popular North Indian dishes like Butter Chicken, Mutton Rogan Josh, and Chicken Pulao, plus some different curries.
There's also a dedicated section for grilled meat, veggies, and paneer; and a traditional tandoor where they make fresh Indian breads.

There's an entire section for the desserts which was brimming with festive Indian sweets. If you're not too keen with Indian desserts, fret not because they also serve up a medley of international cakes, pastries, mousse, and tarts; plus some fresh fruits!
Gulab Jamun was my top pick among the Indian sweets at the Art of Spice. |
Mark went for the international sweets while I tried the Indian desserts like Gulab Jamun, Jalebi, Ladoo, and Coconut Barfi.
The Gulab Jamun was my top pick, it was milky and not too sweet; while Mark enjoyed the Coconut Barfi (it's kinda like a coconut macaroon). The Jalebi was soggy (it's supposed to be crispy, but it felt like I was eating a soft sweet bread) probably because it was sitting in the dessert table for too long. The Ladoo was also good, it's very much like our very own Pastillas, but the former being a tad too sweet. We also enjoyed our desserts and ended our dinner with a hot cup of Karak Chai.

We enjoyed our Indian feast at Medley restaurant. The buffet was well balanced and can cater to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I think this is one of the best Indian buffets that we had to date. No wonder a lot have been raving about Chef Sweety Singh.
