Do you know what's worse than having a sprained ankle? Having a sprained ankle on a weekend! Yes, I got a booboo a couple of weekends back that I had to skip work and stay at home the following day which is, to make it worse, a weekend.
I love staying in on weekends, I really do. I also have no issues with just lazing around at home. It's just that, weekends are also the time when I get to prepare some home-cooked dishes, for Mark and I to binge on while lazing around.
How can I do that if I can barely stand, right? Thank heavens for restaurants like Reddy, who offer home deliveries, my weekend dilemma is sorted. And it's not just the usual burger-pizza-pasta-kind of delivery, mind you. It's traditional roasts delivered straight at your doors, baby! :p
The whole ordering process was a breeze. A call to their delivery hotline is attended to by friendly staff. The staff who handled my order was very patient too when I can't identify any landmarks near our place. Side story: we just recently moved and I'm new to the neighborhood so that's why. :P
Our orders were delivered on time; an hour after we called. Promised delivery time was 45 minutes to an hour. Mark and I
I wasn't really paying attention to the details in the menu so I didn't notice that each of the specials already comes with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal veggies, sage and onion stuffing, and homemade gravy. Yes, a single special is already good for two! And so we ended up having a feast!
The Mixed Roast already has Aussie beef, so we just kept the other Aussie Beef order for later. Aside from the beef, it also has lamb and half 'Kiwi Tegel' chiken. The beef and lamb were both fork tender. That distinct beefy goodness was there.
I also loved how the lamb didn't have that weird aftertaste (the one that you get if they're are not properly cooked) which proves that it was Reddy's was cooked perfectly. It was already good with the gravy that came it with, but I enjoyed it more with the Mushroom Sauce!
The steamed veggies still had that crisp which I like and the roast potatoes had that distinct smokey flavor. The Yorkshire Pudding and Sweet Potato Fries, though already a bit soggy which is already expected with home deliveries, were still delicious. I bet they would taste even better on dine ins.
The chicken was also a revelation. While Mark was enjoying the roast chicken, I intentionally skipped it because chicken is a staple food in our household (hello, diet food!). Good thing Mark didn't finish it all and I got to try it for dinner otherwise I would have missed out a lot!
Aside from the fall-off-the-bone flavorful meat, the chicken skin was so good. I usually just set the skin aside in roasted chicken, but with Reddy's I just had to eat them all. I didn't mind if it's full of cholesterol! Hahaha! I think it would also go well with the Peri Peri sauce.
Remember the Aussie Beef that we set aside? Mark had it for lunch at work the following day. Never thought doing meal preps could be that easy! |
With a friendly attendant and prompt delivery service, generous serving size, and traditional roast goodness, Mark and I highly recommend Reddy Roast's delivery service. Apart from saving my weekend dilemma, it also spared me from doing Mark's meal prep!
