Have you ever dined in a restaurant where you had nothing but praises for every dish that you ordered? Seems impossible, right? I myself had been to a number of restaurants both here in Dubai and back home, but never had a single experience where everything that I got was superb. There will be dishes that will stand out but there will always be a dish or two that won't meet my expectations. But that definitely wasn't the case with our dining experience at Market 24!
Located at the lobby are of Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights, Market 24 is a casual cafe, bakery, restaurant, and deli; all in one. The restaurant is undergoing a revamp when we got to visit, so I'll be focusing more on the food.
The menu consists of Asian specialty dishes, from salads and mains, pastas and pizzas, to soups and sushi, and refreshments and desserts.
It actually got me by surprise, but it seems like I'm in a quest for the best tasting salads. So whenever there's salad in the menu, we always get one. We had Market 24's Avocado Salad along with fresh juices—orange for Mark and lemon mint for me—to start off.
My photo may not give justice, but the salad's serving was generous. A huge bowl of mesclun lettuce, avocado, pomegranate, beets, and radish in a honey dressing was all wiped out in no time. I think I really need to work on a round up of the best tasting salads here in Dubai. This Avocado Salad will definitely part of the list. ;)

Sushi is also present in the menu, so Mark made sure to get two orders—California Special and Tempura Ebi. The California Special had crab, avocado, cucumber, and masago; while the Tempura Ebi of course had prawn tempura, avocado, and tobiko. They may not be the best sushi I've ever tried, but they were still able to please the sushi lover in Mark. Both came in an 8-piece serving with the usual pickled ginger and wasabi, plus carrot strings.

While I always get salads, Mark always gets steaks if they're available in the menu. The Rib Eye Steak came in a huge slab of medium well beef with mushroom gravy, plus green salad and fries. The salad was like a mini version of the salad that we just had, the steak's marbling was perfect it made the meat fork tender, the mushroom gravy made it the steak yummier, and oh that perfectly cooked parmesan fries! Aaah..everything in this plate is love!

I was actually torn between Pad Thai and Nasi Goreng, and I'm so glad I went for the latter. Chicken and prawns were generously added in a flavorful fried rice that's topped with a sunny side up egg. Chicken satay and peanut sauce, plus pickled veggies and prawn crackers were also served alongside.
The smokey taste of the satay went well with the mildly sweet and spicy medley of the rice. The spiciness was tolerable but I loved how the runny yolk and peanut sauce tamed it down a bit more. Out of the Nasi Goreng dishes that I tried, Market 24's version is by far the best!

The staff insisted that we try their desserts, with the cheesecake being one of their best sellers. Plain and unassuming as this cheesecake from Market 24 may seem, every bite of it is pure bliss! No wonder the staff insisted that we make room for it!

Mark still had a lot of room for dessert that he also got some tiramisu. I don't really like tiramisu as they tend to be mushy (and I hate mushy cakes) but Market 24's version was different. The ladyfingers remained firm and the layers of custard and mousse (if I remembered it right) were rich. I surprisingly loved it!

So, have you ever dined in a restaurant where you had nothing but praises for every dish that you ordered? If you still haven't, go try it at Market 24. Prices may be a bit of a stretch but the quality and taste of the dishes are totally worth it!
