I haven't been to a lot of Iftar feasts this year, too bad my schedule didn't permit. I had no choice but to turn down Iftar invitations, but I also made sure not to miss one that has always been close to my heart. And so for our last Iftar this Ramadan, Mark and I got back to where we first experienced an Iftar like no other—a Royal Iftar in no less than Radisson Blu in Deira.
Last year, we had our Iftar at Minato, this time our Iftar venue was at Aseelah. Aseelah is one of Radisson Blu's newly opened restaurants which takes pride of their authentic Emirati cuisine and of course, what I've personally experienced through the years, their unsurpassed hospitality.
I was also amused at how beautiful Aseelah is. From the entrance to the interiors and dainty lamps, the restaurant exudes elegance while not foregoing the traditional Emirati architecture. I can't wait to try what Aseelah specifically has to offer. :)
Arabic touches like Arabic cloths as wall and buffet table accents, crescents and stars, camels, and dainty lanterns also adorned the whole place.
Deviating from the traditional Iftar buffets and showcasing specialties from not just one but more than 5 restaurants, they offer international dishes and incorporated Emirati specialties, Iftar staples, and Ramadan juices.
Among the Iftars that we have tried (both this year and last year), Radisson Blu's Royal Iftar has got to be our most favorite. I must say that their spread has very much improved from the last time that I'd been here.

My all-time favorites—dimsum from The China Club, sushi from Minato, and kebabs and mixed grill from Shabestan—didn't disappoint. There were a lot more choices for desserts too. I specifically loved the chocolate desserts!
