Gringo-Chicken Ribs Friends is a newly opened Tex-Mex restaurant, and they can be located in SM North EDSA, The Block. Being a huge fan of Mexican cuisine, I got ecstatic and thrilled when I was asked to try out their dishes.

We got a package of three boxes. Two of which contained half a chicken and the other box has ribs. All of the boxes came with three sides (rice, mushroom, and nachos), and two dips (one’s spicy and the other is not).
I was quite confused when I saw the chicken because it was a little bit on the dark side. I was starting to think that it was burnt until I tried it. The chicken skin was flavorful and the meat was really tender. I love how it went really well with the dipping sauce. The sauce tasted really citrusy. I think that was lime in the sauce. I’m not a huge fan of spicy food so I didn’t try the spicy sauce. But by the looks of it, I’m sure it tastes just like the other sauce only a little spicier.
If there is some food that I could eat for the rest of my life without getting tired of it, one of them would be ribs. I really love ribs and Gringo did not disappoint.
The meat was really tender but not to the point that it falls off the bone. Flavor-wise, I was looking for a combination of sweet and tangy taste but all I got was the sweetness. The ribs were great overall and it also goes very well with the dipping sauce.
I didn’t really enjoy the nachos because I think it took a little while ‘til the food got to our place, so the chips got quite soft and soggy. Nevertheless, the sides were a perfect combination with the chicken and the ribs
I’m really happy that they asked me to try Gringo out. If you ask me, the chicken and the ribs would best be enjoyed with beer. This is a good place to eat out with friends and family, especially if you’re a big fan of Tex-Mex cuisine.
