Got back home last Monday, December 7. Yup, I'll be spending Christmas, New Year, and my birthday here in the Philippines. Yay!
I arrived in the morning and got to Antipolo just in time for lunch. Hap Chan has always been a family favorite, and because I missed having Chinese food a lot, this is where we had my first food trip. :)
The restaurant used to be just a minute away from our home but has now been transferred to Robinsons Place Antipolo. Being a family favorite, of course we got our usual orders: Mixed Meat Canton, Shrimp Siomai, Chicken Feet, Yang Chow Fried Rice, and Crispy Fried Chicken.
I'm still not a fan of saucy pancit canton, but I must admit that Hap Chan's version is what I can tolerate. I loved how generous the ingredients were. I enjoyed eating the shrimps, pork, and liver slices together with the veggies.
Mixed Meat Canton - Php 210.00
I was craving for siomai so Daddy placed 3 orders of it, 1 order being all to myself. Haha! He also got 2 orders of Chicken Feet.
I was drooling when the Shrimp Siomai was served. Very evident is its enticing charm. It was packed with meat and shrimps which burst in every bite. The siomai wasn't on the dry side too. Cravings satisfied!
Shrimp Siomai - Php 85.00
The Chicken Feet was visually appetizing too. But I'm still not a fan of it. :p Chino, Daddy, and Mommy enjoyed its goodness, though. :)
Chicken Feet - Php 90.00
I loved how Hap Chan deviated from the usual yellowish Yang Chow. This one was more inviting with all the vibrant colors from the veggies and meat chunks. It wasn't oily nor on the sticky side which was perfect for my liking.
Yang Chow Fried Rice - Php 250.00
As always, the Crispy Fried Chicken didn't disappoint. The crispy skin still maintained that crunch while the meat was tender and juicy. It was seasoned just right making it Jaoey's all time favorite.
Crispy Fried Chicken - Php 360.00
Although it's a must for restaurant branches to be consistent in what they offer, a bad service shouldn't be included in the list. This is what we always experience in Hap Chan restaurants, and the Robinsons Place Antipolo branch wasn't an exemption.
We still had to follow up before the first dish and drinks were served. We were almost done with eating the Mixed Meat Canton but the rest of our orders were still out of sight. We waited for quite some time before the dimsum was served. The rice and chicken came last, that we almost lost our appetites. We also weren't served with water even if we have asked for it many times. I also find it ironic how the orders needed a lot of follow ups but the bill came in no time when we requested for it.
There's no denying that the food is good and although the food is what Hap Chan is mainly well-loved for, I believe that the service should not be compromised. With our recent experience at Hap Chan, I don't think we will be coming back any sooner.

DeleteNakakamiss ang Hap Chan! Sarap ng siomai at yang chow at lumpiang shanghai nila. Pati roasted chicken. Lahat na! Tapos mura pa. :)
