Spooky Halloween at Wild Wadi Waterpark™

Mark and I, together with Cherry, were privileged to be part of an exclusive media preview of Halloween in Wild Wadi Waterpark last weekend. We got our watches and wrist bands at the ticketing booth at the entrance the moment we arrived at Wild Wadi.

We were ushered to the upper area where canapes and drinks were served. It was a humid day so the food and refreshments surely came in handy.

Aside from the jack-o-lanterns and rat and spider cupcakes, the Halloween vibe was definitely felt as scary decors hang and staff in spooky Halloween costumes and make-ups fill the waterpark.

With their two themed attractions, Forbidden Basement and Trick-or-Treat, I must say that they definitely took fun and scares to a whole new level.

The Forbidden Basement

Haunted Heights was UAE’s first haunted house in a waterpark. It invited guests on a walkthrough journey through a crooked old house, by touching and feeling their way through its dark quarters. With unexpected thrills and ghostly encounters with Eerie Female Figures and Zombie, Haunted Heights was a must see attraction that guaranteed some screams and chills throughout the 2014 Halloween Season.

In 2015, prepare for more SCARES. Wild Wadi spent weeks in January trying to get all the creatures locked up, and built a prison down in the basement of the car park. The safest place to lock them up, they thought. Surrounded by 10 inch thick reinforced concrete walls, Wild Wadi’s lifeguards and colleagues were sent down to get rid of the monsters once and for all. But months of testing out different ways to destroy them did not have any effect.

The last group of colleagues that went into the Haunted House was armed with special chemicals to destroy the zombies once and for all. But outside the Basement, we could hear the screams of the colleagues and the maniacal laughter of the monsters. The chemicals did not work! If anything, it made them angrier and eventually created a new breed of Super Zombies.

This October, they invite guests to visit the Forbidden Basement, a spooktacular scare zone filled with mutants, monsters and mayhem.

Mark, Cherry, and I definitely loved the Forbidden Basement! I must say that the staff did a good job in scaring the hell out of me! Camera's are not allowed so Mark wasn't able to capture how frightened I was all throughout our journey. I was screaming non-stop! I also felt sorry for Mark's arm who experienced all the tight grasps and pulls that the scaredy cat in me did as we find our way to the exit. Hahaha!

Are you bold enough? :p

Trick-or-Treat

Aside from the Forbidden Basement, Wild Wadi Waterpark also offers daily Trick-or-Treat not just for kids but for kids-at-heart as well. Yes, the Trick-or-Treat is open to guest of all ages. I was busy looking at the kids in their cute costumes that I totally forgot to take photos of them. :p

There are 13 locations all over the waterpark during the weekdays and 20 locations during the weekends. Guests are required to present their Trick-or-Treat map, Pepsi sponsored candy bag, and their wristband to collect one candy from each location.

The Waterpark Rides

Aside from the two Halloween-themed attractions, Wild Wadi's Waterpark rides would also definitely give you that good "scare" with its spook-tacular splashes!

Located in Dubai and situated in front of the stunning Burj Al Arab with a view of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Wild Wadi offers 30 rides and attractions for all the family.

To complete the spooky vibe this Halloween, decorations such as skeletons, hangman, monsters, and the like are scattered within the waterpark.

Although we didn't get to experience all the rides, because Mark and I had a slight boo-boo, we definitely enjoyed our stay at Wild Wadi. Thank you, Wild Wadi and Zomato UAE, for having us! Read more about our waterpark experience HERE. :)
