As part of the hotel’s 40th anniversary celebration, Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek invites guests to enjoy the vast buffet for Iftar. Mark and I have already tried their Friday Brunch and we enjoyed it, so we obliged when we got another invite for their Royal Iftar on the second night of Ramadan.
We already had our Friday Brunch at The Fish Market and Shabestan (will share more details on my next post), so we chose to have our Iftar at Minato this time. Minato is one of Radisson Blu's restaurant which takes pride of their unsurpassed hospitality and their authentic Japanese cuisine including hand-crafted sushi and teppanyaki.
Together with my good friend, Cat, we all enjoyed an Iftar filled with an array of traditional and international dishes.
On our Iftar table: sushi, dimsum, kebab, shawarma, desserts, dates, nuts, and jallab
Mark is a sucker for sushi and sweets, so I wasn't surprised when he got back from the Iftar buffet spread with these:
He could be served with sushi and sweets over and over and he won't complain. We've been to Radisson Blu several times already and these two never failed to be part of Mark's plates. He could eat them all day!
He even got one of the trophies (as being the best Japanese restaurants) displayed on Minato's shelf and posed with it in our Iftar table. When I asked him what the trophy was all about, he said that it's because our Iftar is a 'Winner Dinner'! Hahaha! :p Okay, I think I'm the only one who laughed. :p
The buffet spread was pretty much like the ones that we had during the Friday Brunch, just with some additional dishes from the Palm Grill and La Moda, so I already knew what to get. :)
The lamb kebab was actually on Mark's plate during our Friday Brunch and it became my instant favorite when I tried it, and I can still remember how we got a second round of the burger steak during our Al Mansour Dhow dinner cruise, so I made sure to have them on my Iftar plate. I got a couple of sushi, grilled fish, and steamed veggies too to balance out my meal.
Cat's Dessert Plate
Additional dishes were also present in the Iftar buffet spread, including shawarma and dimsum, which I've been craving for quite a while. The last shawarma was taken when we got to the shawarma station, so the chef just wrapped some grilled chicken instead. I just forgot what the dish was called, but it definitely wasn't the shawarma that I used to like. The chicken was tender and juicy, but I found the sauce a little too sour.
The siopao was ordinary-tasting. I thought maybe it's because there's quite a few filling so I can just taste the dough. The vegetable gyoza was the least of my favorites among the dimsums. The hakaw and siomai definitely satisfied my cravings!
An assortment of dates and nuts, which are Iftar staples, plus fresh juices and Jallab were also present. Aside from the mammoth spread, there's also a live traditional music flowing through the area to get everybody in the spirit of Ramadan.
I loved how Radisson Blu's Royal Iftar deviated from the traditional Iftar buffets that I've been to. They patterned the same buffet setup from their Friday Brunch and incorporated Arabic touches like Arabic cloths as wall and buffet table accents, camels, and the traditional Arabic tent, and Arabic dishes and Iftar staples. There's really nothing better than quality food and time with family and friends. We all, once again, had a great time. Thank you, Radisson Blu! :)
The hotel is also running special offers throughout the year to celebrate their 40th anniversary. As Radisson’s way of saying “Ramadan Kareem” and joining in the spirit of peace and harmony, for the whole month of Ramadan, every guest that comes with 4 people will only pay for 3! Guests are welcomed to break their fast with family and friends with prices starting at AED 149!
So if you're looking for a place for your nightly Iftar this Ramadan, make sure to include Radisson Blu Hotel's Royal Iftar in your list!

We were guests at Radisson Blu Hotel and our meal was complimentary, but as always, this post is sincerely written and all views and opinions are my own.
The Friday Brunch concept at Radisson Blu is superb. I love hopping from one restaurant to another and the amazing options; my fave is Minato's Peking duck! :) It's great that they have incorporated the same concept for Iftar as well.
