Al Ghurair Centre's Dub Fest 2015 #AGCDubFest

Outshone by the bigger malls in Dubai, Al Ghurair Centre was never known to me until one instance when Mark badly needed to pee and the restroom in the mall was the closest remedy. We got into the part of the mall where it's a bit dark and uninviting, so the mall didn't really appeal to me.

Apparently, Al Ghurair Centre has taken on a new persona with its tagline ‘Soul of the City' and has undergone renovations to become at par with the fast-developing Dubai. They've expanded physically and added new fashion brands and conducted events to cater to families in Dubai--locals, tourists, and expats alike.

One of which is Al Ghurair Centre's Dub Fest 2015, which I got invited to last Friday to mark the start of the fest.

The bloggers meet was held at Paul, Al Ghurair Centre, where we were served with a delectable array of cocktail food, juices, and coffee. I tagged Mark along and we both had great day. :)

After the meet, we had the chance to check the place out. The street on the side of the Entrance 4 of the mall has been closed off and revamped into an open carnival space.

The playful, funky, and colorful Dub Fest design and graffiti embellished the whole stretch of the street walls and were scattered all over the mall.

There are also number of stalls selling items that will surely tickle your fancy.

Giant Jenga and Chess pieces are also provided where kids and kids at heart can get to play with.

Aside from that, we got to witness what the Dub Fest was known for, the International Theatre and Comedy Fair acts. We had the pleasure of being enthralled by the very talented and funny American street artist, Todd Various.

A skilled magician and sleight-of-hand wizard, he brings gasps of wonder and roars of laughter with his bold magic and unabashed comedy style. I was laughing my head off with his performance and was personally in awe when he swallowed a whole balloon right before my eyes!

Another act that we got to witness was from an Argentinian performer in the The Atari Show.

The show combines humor, juggling, improvisation, and imagination for an exhilarating blend of skillful clowning and provocative comedy.

Too bad Mark and I had to cut the fun short since we needed to catch another food review appointment that day. We were already leaving the venue when another one in the list of performers, the Stickman, started his act. :(

#AGCDubFest runs from 19th March to 28th March. There are also a lot more performances which will happen all throughout the 10-day event. Aside from that, Children's Circus Workshop is also available inside the mall which you'll definitely not have a hard time looking for if you follow these cutesy clown footprints. :D

You can also shop for Dub Fest merchandise in stalls inside the mall. You can win gift vouchers when you shop from participating stores.

Thank you so much, #AGCDubFest, for the freebies! :D

Mark and I definitely had fun. I'm sure you will too. So if you've got a time to spare, head over to Al Ghurair Centre’s Dub Fest with your family and friends to witness a showcase of international talents for free!
