I've been living away from home for almost a month now. It's actually my first time in 28 years to be away from my family. And because of that, I have no choice but to do everything, house chores specifically, all on my own. If there's one chore that I love doing the most, it's definitely cooking! And even though I'm not accustomed to being alone and doing everything by myself, I still find joy in it because I get to cook every single day, especially on weekends when I get to cook for Mark. :D
While cooking is really a no-brainer task for me, cooking for a bodybuilder is another thing. I always have to improvise and know healthier alternatives to usual ingredients that 'normal' people eat. :p Here's one of the 'healthy' dishes that I've cooked for Mark. :p
Ingredients:
Preparation and Cooking Procedures:
Wash chicken breasts with running water and cut into strips.
On a pan over medium heat, add oil and saute garlic until golden brown. Add the onions and cook until translucent.

Stir until all the chicken strips are coated with the soy sauce. Cover and let it simmer for a minute.

Stir and bring to a boil.
Note: The ratio of the oyster sauce and soy sauce should be 1:1 for 'normal' people, but because I'm cooking for a bodybuilder, I just trimmed down the sodium content by adding just a teaspoon of soy sauce. If you can find a low-sodium soy sauce and oyster sauce then that would be better. I also used honey instead of brown sugar. If you're gonna be using the latter, this recipe would call for 1 tablespoon, or depending on how sweet you'd want it of course. :)

Note: This is the part where you'll need to add 1 tbsp of cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup water and let it boil while stirring continuously for the sauce to have a thick consistency. But again, since this is for my bodybuilder, I omitted that part and just let it boil until the sauce is reduced. :)

Add in the broccoli and cover for a minute.

After a minute, give it a good stir and remove from heat. :)
You'll know that the broccoli is done when it's color turns to bright yellow green. I like my broccoli to still have that crunch. But if you want your broccoli cooked thoroughly, you may choose to still let it simmer until the broccoli achieves your desired softness.

Transfer into a clean plate and serve with steamed rice. :)
