We had our dinner the night before at Cafe de Coral. And because I enjoyed our dinner and I already knew that we'd also be having our breakfast there, I somehow scouted the menu and took note of what I'd be having for breakfast. Haha! Apparently, they serve different sets of dishes for breakfast, just like what most restaurants do. And why haven't I thought of that? Haha!
Bun with Butter, Twisty Macaroni in Oxtail Soup, and Scrambled Egg with Milk - HK$ 22.00
with Freshly-brewed Coffee, Tea, or Soda - additional HK$ 3.00

Our hotel accommodation in Hong Kong came with free breakfast for each guest...or so we thought. Well yeah, the breakfast wasn't totally for free unlike what usual hotel accommodations offer. We were just given HK$ 20.00 coupons per person per day which we may use in Cafe de Coral for breakfast on each morning of our stay.
Just like the dinner choices, there were also a lot of breakfast dishes to choose from. Prices range from HK$ 15.00 - HK$ 25.00 per dish with additional HK $3.00 for the drinks, so we paid a couple of Hong Kong dollars each for our meal. Still not bad I think.

So here are what we had on our first breakfast. Mark and his mom both got soups for breakfast. Mark's mom got the twisty macaroni set, while Mark opted for beef noodles.
I'm not really into soups when it comes to breakfast because I grew up having either rice or bread, so the soups in the menu didn't really appeal to me. Well maybe not after our orders were served! Haha! Both soups were served in huge bowls. Mark's mom's dish also had bread, sausage, and meat loaf with it.
Beef Noodles with Egg and Veggies - HK$ 20.50
with Freshly-brewed Coffee, Tea, or Soda - additional HK$ 3.00

I got Roasted Chicken with Honey which came with scrambled eggs with milk and butter toast. I was kinda disappointed at how different the actual serving was from the photo on the menu when my order was served.
But although the chicken was a bit small, I have to say that I loved it as it was very flavorful. The tender chicken breast was roasted to perfection having that crispy skin and still maintaining that juicy and tender meat. It had the right amount of saltiness and the pungent taste from toasted garlic was very evident. The sweetness from the honey gravy (and maple syrup as what my palate suggests) also added to the savory taste of the dish.

And although I enjoyed my first breakfast, I must admit that I was still eyeing on Mark's mom's food as I was finishing mine haha! She kept on saying how tasty the soup was. So the following day, I made sure to get that too haha! :p
And so there, on our second breakfast, we all got the twisty macaroni set. Mark's mom still got the same set, while Mark and I opted to have it with scrambles eggs instead.

Mark's mom was right when she said that that soup was tasty. The beefy taste from the oxtail soup was very evident. The macaroni was cooked al dente. The soup was well-seasoned and I love how the saltiness, sourness from the tomatoes, and mild spiciness from the ground beef and veggies played in my mouth. Mark didn't like it that much though because it was a bit oily, but Mark's mom and I still loved it! :D
The dish came with scrambled eggs with milk and a soft bun which I enjoyed while dipping in the soup.
Another pride of Cafe de Coral, the brewed coffee, was also a hit on our table. It had that strong kick which gave us an energy boost for us to last our activities for the whole day. :)
I must say that I had a great dining experience at Cafe de Coral. And if asked if I'd still try out their other specialties when I get back to Hong Kong, my answer would definitely be "Why not?". :)
