I mentioned in my previous post that even weeks before my actual birthday, we already had a series of pre-birthday celebrations/lunch-outs with my family. Here's the first of 'em.
It's the weekend after Christmas when daddy decided to go out and stroll. He wanted to go to malls other than where we would usually go. SM Mall of Asia and Robinsons Magnolia were the choices, but because MOA's too far from where we are, Robinsons Magnolia got the most votes.
We arrived at the mall just in time for lunch. We always have to consider Jaoey whenever we dine out, and because he loves fried chicken, Classic Savory was were we had our lunch.
I've tried Classic Savory countless of times already, and whenever I'm with my family, we always get the same orders, the Savory Chicken Combo C meals. I guess that's just how it goes for my family. Whenever we loved something in a certain restaurant, we can come back as many times and order the same dish over and over! :p
Each meal comes with 1/2 Chicken, Pancit Canton, a choice of Salt and Pepper Squid, Salt and Pepper Spareribs, Creamy Fish Fillet, or Sweet and Sour Pork; 2 Special Turon, 2 plain rice, and 2 tropical coolers.
The very evident savory taste from star anise (I guess), crispy chicken skin, and tender and juicy meat plus their special gravy are the reasons why their chicken has always been a family favorite.
Although I'm still not a fan of their saucy pancit, the rest of the family, especially Jaoey, loved it!
I would have wanted a lot more serving of the other dishes, the squid specifically, but I guess the chicken and pancit are the real stars of the combo meal (and it's been the same serving even in their other branches), so I guess that's just really how it is.
Although Classic Savory once again made our tummies happy, there's just one miss for the Robinsons Magnolia branch and I think it's a major one. Our server wasn't very attentive. We were seated for more than 15 minutes already when a staff approached and asked if we already had orders, to which my mom replied "none yet". To our surprise, the server turned his back and went on to the next tables. When he was called again by my dad and was confronted about why he just left, he didn't even say that he didn't hear any reply or at least give a reason why he left, and that really hit a raw nerve on my dad. He also kept on collecting back the menu which kinda pissed my dad even more. :p
Aside from good food, good customer service is really a factor on how people will love a certain restaurant/branch. And with what we've experienced in the Robinsons branch, I'm just not sure if we're still coming back. :p
We roamed around and shopped after lunch and took a couple of pictures too. :p
I just loved how Jaoey was very enthusiastic in fooling around and posing for the camera! :p
Don't you just love how the wigs, especially the pink one, looked too cute on him?! Hahaha! :p
