Gia Cooks: Beef Tacos

While daddy can cook almost every dish including those with the most complicated recipes and procedures, Gia on the other hand does it well in cooking easy-peasy yet very mouth-watering dishes!

Just like last weekend when Gia decided to make Beef Tacos for our snacks. Complicated as the dish seems, Gia did it in a breeze and got that authentic Mexican taste with the help of her secret ingredient.

Wanna know what that ingredient is? Read on! :D

Ingredients:

IMG_20741 kilo ground beef
IMG_32923 cloves garlic, minced

IMG_32932 large white onions, cut into small cubes
IMG_32968 pcs medium-sized tomatoes, cut into small cubes

IMG_33021 medium cabbage, julienned
IMG_32941 175g pack Eden Cheese, coarsely grated

IMG_32984 dozens Taco Shells
IMG_32992 40g packs McCormick Taco Seasoning Mix

Preparation and Cooking Procedures:

Prepare all the veggies and cut according to the ones stated above. Put in clean bowls and set aside.

Now we're ready to make the beef filling. Put the ground beef in a pan over medium heat. Cover and simmer until beef turns light brown and oil starts to come out.

Put the beef on the side of the pan and sauté the garlic until golden brown. Add in a tablespoon of the onions and sauté until translucent. Stir in the beef back and add all the McCormick Taco Seasoning Mix. Stir, cover, and simmer for 3-5 minutes.

Remove from heat and transfer in a clean serving bowl.

Now that all our ingredients are ready, we can now construct our tacos! :D Lay the taco shells in a pan. The box that come with it may also come in handy. :)

Fill the taco shells with a couple of tablespoons of each ingredients in the following order: beef, onions, tomatoes, cabbage, and cheese.

But then again, there's really no limit as to how much filling should be put. Provided that it fits the shell, you may put as generous filling as you wish. :)

You may also drain the oil from the beef first before filling the taco shells. But all the flavors and spices are concentrated in the oil so we opted not to drain.

You may also top your tacos with mayo, ketchup, and hot sauce for a more delectable treat.

There were some broken taco shells but they were not put to waste. Gia made them into open-faced beef tacos! :D

Our family is big, each with huge appetites as well, thus the generous amount of ingredients. But this recipe may always be halved. :)
