Hizon's Quezo de Bola Ensaymada

Was out earlier today to do some meetings, do some supplies shopping, and do some errands and girlfriend duties for Mark. Since my meeting ended a little before lunch time, I decided to grab some lunch and go straight to Hizon's in Manila to meet with Mark's mom.

While everybody's been raving about a variety of sweets and pastries that came out a few months back and some just recently, my sweet tooth still chose to crave for the classics.


While on my way, just the thought of those sweet macaroons, chocolate brownies, and yummy ensaymada from Hizon's already got me drooling! I've also been trying to decide which among the three I'd buy for pasalubong. :p

After a short chit-chat with Mark's mom at Hizon's, I've finally made up my mind and decided to buy some ensaymada. But I guess Mark's mom might have read my mind or my cravings might have been that obvious that she gave me not just one, but a box of Hizon's Quezo de Bola Ensaymada all for free! Weeeeee!!!! ♥♥♥


I was very excited to go home and sink my teeth into this yummy pastry! I became even more delighted the moment I opened the box and saw huge ensaymadas!

I was just supposed to buy the small ones but Tita Juliet gave me the big ones!


It's as big as my chubby face haha!


I've tried a lot of ensaymadas before, but Hizon's Quezo de Bola Ensaymada is still the best ensaymada for me. I don't really like quezo de bola, but not when it's generously grated on top of sugar granules with mildly sweet butter...

...over a very soft, fluffy, yet chewy bread. Oh my palates are in heaven! :D


I've already devoured one ensaymada when I got home (just right after I took the photos), and I'm sinking my sweet tooth into another one again as I type this. Hahaha! Thank you so much Tita Juliet!!! Even my mom can't resist its goodness!
