I've been sporting either a short or long straight hair for years and I want to try a new look this time. When digiperm became a hit a few years ago, I really wanted to get into the craze badly if not for my super short hair that time. Good thing my hair is now long enough and I finally got the time, so I got the chance to have my hair perm-ed at Tony & Jackey a day before my birthday. :D
Was greeted by a bunch of friendly staff the moment I entered the salon. After speaking with the receptionist, I was ushered inside and was introduced to Angel, my Korean stylist. She had my hair assessed first before the digital perming. After the assessment, my transformation began haha! :p
I first had my hair colored, then trimmed, then rebonded, with shampooing in between, which took roughly 4 hours to finish.
Afterwards my hair went through this machine for the 15-minute digital perming. Angel suggested that I have the medium curls since the big curls would only last for a week.
My hair was washed for the last time, towel-dried, and was applied with a smoothing oil and an cream for volume and I'm done!. Let me just say that I loved my first time experience at the salon. The staff were very nice, Angel was very funny and friendly, and everyone was just so accommodating. I love them just as much as I love my new look! :D How do you guys find my new look? :D
My daily routine would be towel drying my hair, putting on Teracota Silky Essence in my damp hair while twirling the strands. And then putting on the Natubea Volume Essence just before my hair dries. These bottles are available at the salon.
Here's what my hair looked like 5 days after the treatment. The curls are already starting to loosen up now which I so love. :D
Maintaining this new hair style is a bit tedious compared to straight hair, which you can just wash and wear, but I am soooo loving my curly hair! :D

How I wish my experience was same as yours. Mine turned out bad. I availed the digiperm service of EdwinLisa Salon at their JP Rizal branch in Makati using the Metrodeal voucher. It was a total of almost 6hrs of procedure and it cost me 4k (incl. root color, treatment, half rebond) but the result was frustrating. I was told that I’m okay to leave even if my hair was still dripping wet and was applied with 10-12pumps of curling lotion. When my hair finally dried, it was so stiff and heavy. My hair looked so messy and frizzy. I don’t know what to do with my hair now, I even messaged the fb page of EdwinLisa but they did not reply. I had my digiperm at a Korean Salon last year but the result was beautiful and it even cost me less (ensogo voucher 1.8k only).
ReplyDeleteHi Joann! Although I'm not generalizing, I'm not really a fan of vouchers since most of the time, the low deals have a catch. So I'd still choose to believe that quality often comes at a price.
DeleteI'm sorry that yours didn't turn out well. I hope they'd reply to you and at least address your concern. I'm not really an expert, but for my hair what I found effective for the dryness would be a homemade hot oil. You can just buy fresh coconut milk, then boil it until the oil renders. Put it in your hair, cover with shower cap, let it stay for an hour, then wash with shampoo and rinse. I'd usually put it in my hair at least once a week. Then I'd use the usual conditioners daily. :)
