It's been a couple of months since my last post about my favorite day of the month! :-P I really planned of writing about it every month, but unfortunately I wasn't able to do it and that's because of the countless fights that I had with Mark for the past months..fights which sometimes never seem to have any sense at all..hehe..
But now we're ok (and I'm back to being my mushy self again haha!) so I thought of sharing some of the things that I learned from those countless fights. ;)
If you want to have a smooth-sailing relationship and prevent non-sense fights, here are some things that you need to keep in mind:
♥It takes two to tango..and so is to make a quarrel..
So never both be angry at the same time. Give each other a chance to explain and listen to what each one has to say. Take some time to listen and don't criticize, but if you should, do it lovingly. :-P Never yell at each other and never, EVER, bring up mistakes of the past (although I am guilty of this at times haha!). And always remember that it's still very nice to compromise. So if one of you has to win an argument, let it be your partner. :)
♥Never go to sleep with an argument unsettled.
I've encountered this a lot of times, and it's really hard, especially when pride gets in the way. As much as possible, try to settle things before everything else gets worse. When you're wrong admit it and when you're right shut up! :) When you have done something wrong, admit it and ask for forgiveness. When you're right, don't blame your partner for doing wrong, instead, willingly forgive him, forget what he has done, learn from it, and love each other more!
♥Neglect the whole world, but don't ever neglect each other.
Being taken for granted is the worst feeling ever! So always let the one you love know and feel that they are loved. At least once every day say a kind word to your partner. As much as possible, do things, even the littlest, to make your partner feel loved.
True enough there really were a lot of reasons why I and Mark should have just given up and let each other go..but one reason is really strong enough to keep us together..and for as long as we have this one reason, we will still choose to be together, no matter what! :-P
